Strongest Passionsl Page 4
“The claiming is never easy on anyone.”
“Why does anyone do it? So far I can’t see a reason why people would want to.” She folded her arms across her chest, glaring at him.
“It’s for the moments afterward. We’re all hurt and hurting. This isn’t easy for any of us, I promise you. We’re all waiting for the moment when the claiming is over, and we can love without fear.”
Tears filled her eyes. Tom moved from the bed, going toward her. He leaned down, kissing her lips while wrapping his arms around her.
“I love you,” she said. “Every time we go through the claiming, I’m reminded of when you walked away.”
“I’m not a monster, Kitty. It tore me up doing what I did. I hate what I’ve put you and my brothers through. If it makes you feel any better I’m going to make sure you never know a moment’s pain again.”
Resting her head on his chest, she nodded.
“I know this is against your rules, but will you have all of your brothers come here? I want to sleep with you all in the same bed.”
“That bed isn’t big enough,” said Tom. Before she could protest, he took her hand, and led her out of her room. “This was something we thought about and so,” he stopped talking to open another door, “we got this room set up. The rules are there to guarantee that you bond with all of us. It’s what my father told me, and what I’ve tried to follow, but there’s nothing that says you won’t bond with all of us, if you share the bed with us.”
Roy, Guy, Stuart, Mark, and Joey were sitting on a large be. It was so huge that they had to have made it themselves.
“We can break the rules for this one night. Mark and Joey will share you in your room tomorrow. Tonight, we all just want to hold you.” He took her hand leading her into the large bedroom.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing a kiss to his lips. “Thank you.”
Rushing to Roy, she kissed him, then Guy. She lingered a little more with Stuart. The guilt in his eyes hurt her deeply.
Next she kissed Mark and Joey, smiling at them. “Thank you both for being so understanding.”
“You mean everything to us, Kitty. We can wait one night.” This came from Mark.
Joey reached out, linking their hands together.
They all touched and helped her onto the bed. Settling down, she watched Tom turn off the light then make his way toward the bed.
“Do any of you snore?” she asked.
“I do,” Mark said.
She chuckled.
“Be careful, Tom breaks wind,” Guy said. “He bloody stinks.”
Bursting out laughing, Kitty slowly found herself relaxing in the large bed. One month to go and everything would be over. They’d all be mated, and she wouldn’t have to fear being left behind by either of the men.
Every now and then someone reached out to touch her. She loved the way their fingers seemed to linger on her skin. Closing her eyes, she inhaled all of their masculine scents. All of men, the whole of the pack were close by.
She was safe in the comfort of their home.
“Love you, Kitty,” Roy said. Opening her eyes she saw he was the one lying in front of her.
“I love you.”
One by one all six brothers voiced their love for her. She spoke the same words. Reaching out, she cupped Roy’s cheek. “It’s almost over. We’re almost there, and I won’t let you down.”
All she needed to do was accept two men at the same time. That was what terrified her the most. Could she really do it?
Only the next moon would tell the true tale.
