“Oh, come on. You’re telling me right now you’re not a teeny bit curious if he’s thinking about you?” Misty held her thumb and finger together.

“Let me think about it.” She pressed her finger to her lip. “Erm … no.”

“Oh, come on. There is no way you’ve not thought about him?”

Anna sighed, gathering the magazines into one neat pile. “I didn’t say I hadn’t thought about him. Of course I have. We had sex. It was great, but I’m not going to go around begging him for more.” She’d never been the kind of girl to beg for sex. If Landon wanted to go again, she’d think about it, but other than that, she couldn’t bring herself to call him, or even go around the club to invite him for some more.

  “Sometimes I don’t think you’re a human female.”

“Fine, you’ve got me. I’m an alien from outer space.”

  “Knew it,” Misty said, laughing.

She rolled her eyes as Danny came out with his recent client. The raven-haired woman was practically glowing, flirting, and trying to get him to look at her chest, thrusting out her breasts.

  Danny didn’t even look.

He rang up her purchase, which was Anna’s job, and she quickly rushed around the counter.

“Don’t forget the aftercare I’ve given you. If you notice any adverse effects, see a doctor. Thank you.”

The woman looked sad but nodded, leaving the shop.

“I could have rung her up,” Anna said. “You don’t have to do any of that.”

“Yeah, well, I was getting tired of her trying to feel my crotch,” Danny said.

He was a good-looking guy. Heavily inked, well-muscled, and a lot of women always wanted him.

“You were totally getting the fuck-me eyes,” Misty said.

  “I was, was I?”

“Hell, yeah, you couldn’t see that?”

  “I guess not.”

  “Well, you totally were.”

Anna looked at Danny, who was watching her best friend, and she knew why he wasn’t interested in anyone else.

“I better go. Duty calls,” Misty said. “Remember what I said. It’s not normal for a girl to not call or to not think about a guy you’ve just slept with, right, Danny?”

  “What?”

“If you took a girl out on a date, had sex with her, would you expect a call back?” Misty leaned against the counter.

  “Depends on the woman.”

“Really? Why is this happening to me?”

“If she was a crazy woman and the sex wasn’t great, her not calling did me a favor. If it was the other way around, I’d call her, but I wouldn’t mind a call back.”

“See!” Misty pointed at Danny. “He’s normal again.”

  “Still not calling him.”

“You’re a pain in my ass.”

“And such a nice ass it is too,” Anna said.

Misty rolled her eyes. “Have fun without me, kids.”

She walked out of the shop, and Anna turned to Danny to see him still watching Misty through the door.

“You didn’t have to hire me because you’ve got a thing for Misty,” she said.

“I didn’t hire you for that. I happen to think you’re competent. Before you, I had three others watching the shop, and none of them knew what they were doing and were unprofessional.”

“If you want Misty, just ask her out on a date,” Anna said.

Danny turned to look at her. “I’ve been meaning to ask, how did her Friday night at the clubhouse go?”

“Okay. You didn’t miss much, and I took Misty home. No biker for her.”

  “Good.”

Anna laughed. “I could drop a few hints.”

“Tell her I’m good in bed,” Danny asked.

“Wouldn’t work. Misty and I, we’ve got a code. We don’t sleep with each other’s exes, sorry. You’re on your own there. I could tell her what a great guy you are and hint I’ve heard other women say it.”

“It’s fine. I can handle my own love life.”

  “If you say so.”

“What about your love life?” Danny asked.

Before she got a chance to answer the door chimed, and she turned to see, not one, but five of the Trojans entering the ink parlor.

  This was indeed new.

  “Can I help you gentlemen?”

“I want a word,” one of the men said.

Anna noticed he had a patch on him that pronounced him as the President of the club.

“Sure, let’s step into my office.”

This was a first for her. She didn’t know what the hell was going on, but she saw Landon watching her.

  “Hey, beautiful.”

  “What’s going on?”

“Business is all,” he said. “I’ve been expecting you to call.”

She paused. “Really? Everyone seems to think it’s my job to call you?”

  “Why not?”

“Because you might have not been that memorable?” She shrugged.

Landon took her hand, and before she knew what was happening, he pulled her into the customer toilet. She had cleaned shortly before Misty arrived, and knew it was spotless.

“What the hell are you do—” She didn’t get to speak as he slammed his lips down on hers, silencing all protest, and she moaned. Wrapping her arms around his neck, holding onto him, not wanting to let her go, but deep down, knowing he was only proving a point to her. A useless point, but a point all the same.

He broke from the kiss first. “You don’t have to play hard to get with me.”

  “I wasn’t.”

  “Then why haven’t you called?”

“I don’t go around calling random guys. This is not who I am.” She put her hands on his chest. “Why are you here?”

  “Club business.”

“Is my boss part of the club?”

  “Nope.”

“Then what would the club have to do with this?” she asked.

“Not a whole lot, but we’ve been meaning to call on Danny. He’s been in town a short time, and we wanted to give him a warning, if you will.”

“Don’t hurt my boss,” she said.

“I won’t. Are you fucking him?”

  “No.”

“Good. Come to the club Friday night.” Landon pulled away, and she frowned at him.

  “Excuse me?”

“You heard me. Come to the club and I’ll show you a good time.”

“That doesn’t sound like a question.”

“It’s a request, Anna. I’d like to see you there.”

“Come on, Landon, we’ve got to go,” someone said as they banged on the toilet door.

“I’ll make it worth your while.”

He left the bathroom, and her lips tingled. One glance in the mirror, and she saw how hard her nipples were and just how aroused she felt. This wasn’t supposed to happen.

Sliding out of the toilet, she found Danny at the till.

  “What was all that about?”

“Just a little warning to me is all.”

“You don’t seem bothered by their presence.”

“I’m not. The Trojans, they’re good men, most of them anyway. It’s business, is all it is.”

Anna didn’t like it though, and what she also didn’t like was her reaction to Landon. As far as she concerned, she’d never craved a man’s touch before, and yet here she was, desperate for him.

No matter what happened, she wouldn’t go to the party Friday, and she now had to get Misty and Danny on a date, so she didn’t have to go out.

  ****

“You have no right!” Maya said, throwing a lampshade across the room.

“I have every right. You’re not going to the party tonight. Not after what I had to come fucking home to. You think I want to see shit like that!” Landon couldn’t believe he’d arrived home to get ready for the Friday party to find Maya not with one, but two men. Yes, two freaking men. She’d been sucking one of them dry, and the other had been taking her hard.

  H
e was going to need to pull out his eyeballs and still, he’d be very much aware of what he’d just seen, and it angered him.

She had the robe tied up, but still, he’d nearly beaten each of the guys to a bloody pulp from what he’d witnessed.

“You’re not my dad. You’re not my brother. I can do whatever the hell I want. If I want to fuck a bunch of random guys, I can.”

“Not in my house you can’t. Do you have any freaking any idea how close you are right now to Holly and Duke sending your ass away?” He’d not even tried to talk to her about it as he’d hoped deep down this was just a crazy kid phase.

  “What?”

“You heard me. They’re scared about what kind of damage you’re doing to yourself. This isn’t you. What the hell happened, Maya? You went from being this quiet, withdrawn young woman, to this pain in the ass. What happened to the nightmares? What happened to your studies? Overnight you’ve changed, why?”

She snorted. “You don’t think this is me?”

“This isn’t you, Maya. You wanted your education. To go to college. It’s all you ever wanted. Your father is out of the way, and you can have all of that. Instead, you’re screwing your way around half of Vale Valley as if it’s some kind of hobby!”

Maya snorted. “Please, it’s not hard work. You flash guys some tits and ass, and they’re putty in your hands.”

“Is this what this is? You’re trying to show you’ve got the power? That no man will ever be able to hurt you again, is that what this is?”

“Don’t even try to analyze me. You’ve done one psych class, and it doesn’t make you an expert in human behavior. You have no idea what you’re talking about.” Maya folded her arms.

“Then tell me what this is?” Landon asked. “I would really like to know.”

“You want to know?” Maya asked.

“Yes! I care about you, you know that.”

She raised a brow. “Okay.” She started to untie her robe.

  “What are you doing?”

“I’m going to show you what this is,” she said.

  “Maya.”

She stood before him naked. “This. It’s a body. Just a body but men covet it so readily.”

  “Stop it.”

She cupped her tits. “They always want these, don’t they? You’d be surprised how much attention they do get.”

  “Enough.”

“Let’s not forget the pussy.” She cupped herself, and he couldn’t watch her. She let out a moan. “Oh, yes, they want this. Why not? I’m so wet, Landon.”

  “Stop!”

She was in front of him, grabbing his junk, hard.

He held her wrist even as she kept on playing with herself. “I do this because it’s what men want. They don’t want a scared little girl. They want someone they can hold the power over, but like this, I get what I want. All it takes is a few words, Landon, and no one hurts me. No one.”

“The club is your family. We won’t let anyone hurt you.”

“Please, the club puts up with me. Tolerates me. I’ve seen the real queen there, and I know it’ll never be me.”

“Is this some kind of power play you’ve got going on? Holly loves you. You’re her sister.”

“She likes me when I do as I’m told, and I’m tired of doing as I’m told. I’ve got no dad to tell me what to do. No one to order me who to fuck, or who to rape me. I’m my own free person.”

  “This isn’t you, Maya.”

“This is me, and I like it. Come on, Landon. Haven’t you ever thought about being with me? Fucking me?”

  “No,” he said, meaning it.

“You think I don’t know how horny you get. How needy.”

He squeezed her wrist tighter, causing her pain. She let out a cry. “I can tell you, I’ve never once seen you as anything other than a friend and a sister. This isn’t you, Maya.” He pushed her away. Not enough to fall but to shock her with the rejection.

“Fuck you. You’re not even a real man. A real man is the only kind I’m after.”

  He’d heard enough.

Grabbing his jacket, he left his apartment, closing the door, as she threw something against the glass.

Pulling out his cell phone, he dialed Duke’s number.

  “Hello, Landon,” he said.

In the background he heard feminine laughter and was in no doubt to who it was. There was only one person who he’d have giggling like that.

“The rehabilitation center, or wherever it is you want to send Maya, I’m in. She has to be dealt with.” Landon hated admitting defeat, but he told Duke everything, about the violence, and he’d also seen the drugs as well. He’d been trying to get to the bottom of the drug taking, but trying to be covert in Vale Valley was fucking useless. He needed Raoul to get in touch with Diaz to find out who could supply drugs to one of the Trojan MC women without detection.

After visiting the ink parlor, he’d gone to the local college, and discovered Maya had quit all of her classes months ago. She had stopped going to college, so what was she doing with her day? He now knew, she was drugging it up, and screwing random men.

He told Duke all of it, not leaving out a single detail, including her little seduction act.

“I’ll take care of her,” Duke said. “Stay away from your apartment until I do.”

“Don’t hurt her.” Landon cringed as he said the words.

“I have no intention of hurting anyone. You don’t have to worry.”

Landon nodded and hung up his cell phone. Climbing on his bike, he rode into the clubhouse, needing a drink.

He walked straight up to the bar to see Rick behind the bar.

“Get me something strong,” he said.

A double whiskey was placed in front of him. Rather than down the shot, he held the glass between his fingers.

“A brunette been in here looking for me?” he asked.

“Lots of brunettes, none looking for you.”

“How about Matthew? Where he’s at?”

“Prez gave him some time off. No one has seen him.”

Landon knew where Matthew was. Whenever he had a break from prospecting, he always, without fail, followed his heart. Wherever Luna was, Matthew wouldn’t be far. Even if she was with someone else, that boy had it bad, really bad.

Couldn’t blame the kid but Landon wished Maya had turned out like Matthew, a good kid. She’d been great company for a long time; only now, she was a mess.

He put it down to the drugs.

After an hour, still no word from Duke, and no sign of Anna, he knew she’d stood him up. Not going to happen. He needed to forget about the last couple of hours of his life, and the only way to do that was with Anna.

Downing the shot, he got to his feet and went straight to his bike.

Without a look back, he rode to her apartment block, breaking every single traffic law the city had. He didn’t care. In that moment, all he wanted was to be inside Anna’s soaking wet pussy.

He parked his bike and rushed toward the entrance of the building just in time for people to be leaving.

Sliding between the doors, he took the stairs, a man on a mission to find out why she didn’t turn up.

Once he was at her door, he didn’t hesitate.

  You never chase a woman.

  You’re always hiding from women.

He slammed his fist on the door, not caring what attention he drew from even being here.

  Seconds later, the door opened.

Anna was there, in a negligee, a cute pair of glasses on her nose, and her long hair, cascading all around her.

She looked sexy as fuck, and his dick ached for her.

  “What the hell?”

He stepped into the apartment, and she had no choice but to step back. Closing the door, he flicked the lock into place, staring at her.

She looked good enough to eat.

He removed his leather cut, watching her. She was panting for breath, but he loved the way her nipples poked against her shirt.
They were begging to be sucked, and he wanted to take his time tonight. There was no way he was going home.

Anna had just got herself a bed partner.

  Chapter Six

Okay, Anna had never been turned on by the dominant approach. At least, not until now. Landon walking his way into her apartment shouldn’t have turned her on, and yet, seeing him now, standing before her door, commanding, his presence known, it was impossible to not be a little turned on by this. The leather cut hung beside her jacket near the door where he put it. He ran fingers across his head.

“You weren’t at the club,” he said.

  “I know.”

She was right here, checking the time, and wondering if she should do as she was told, but no, she wasn’t going to be ordered around by a biker, not now, not ever.

“You really think it’s wise to cross me.”

“I don’t know you. I’m not your bitch, Landon. You don’t get to tell me what to do.”

  “I don’t?”

  “No.”

He pulled his shirt over his head, and she bit her lip, trying not to look at his impressive chest, displaying all the ink he’d had done.

Next, he went to his pants.

She didn’t make a move to stop him.

“I didn’t think you fucked the same girl twice,” she said.

  “You’ve asked about me?”

“It’s what I’ve been told. I figured the other night was our one and only time.”

  “Now you’re being taught differently.”

  “I’m being taught?”

  “Yes.”

“You think you can teach me?” she asked, not knowing where this was going.

  “Yeah, strip.”

She laughed. “Not going to happen.” She folded her arms. This was … fun. She couldn’t believe not going to the clubhouse would be this much fun. First, she got Misty and Danny to go on a date together.

She’d been surprised when Misty hadn’t been for the date. Her best friend hadn’t wanted to go on a single date with Danny, and it intrigued her. Of course, she raised the stakes and promised she’d do anything for her best friend if she agreed to go on this one date with her boss.

  It was risky.

Owing Misty any kind of debt was … dangerous. She’d deal with it when the time came. Besides, she didn’t want to go to the clubhouse. The idea of partying every single Friday night didn’t appeal to her, not once.
