Chapter One
Charlotte Harris made her way back from grabbing the mail to pause when she saw the sixth blonde of the week leaving her neighbor’s house. She couldn’t look anywhere but at him. His hand was in the blonde’s hair as the other gripped her ass tightly. Charlotte heard the moans from the few feet she was away from him. Heat bloomed in her cheeks as she took in the way he held onto the woman. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, showing off the array of ink she saw every time he mowed the lawn.
Bryan Webb, her wicked neighbor with the revolving front door. She couldn’t believe how many different women went in and out of his house every day of the week. He could be mistaken for a porn star with how many women he fucked.
Stop it. Stop thinking about everything he’s getting and you’re not.
She stared down at the letters in her hand, seeing nothing of any importance.
“How are you doing, neighbor?” Bryan asked, drawing her attention back to him. The blonde was climbing into her car, already moving on.
“Erm, I’m fine. You?”
“I can’t complain with life.” He raised his arms out showing off the expanse of muscles.
Charlotte nodded. “Great.” She had nothing else to say to him. This was how it always was with her, tongue-tied, and she wasn’t even attracted to him. Okay, he was a good looking man, hot, sexy, but he wouldn’t even look twice at her. He was into blondes, and she was a brunette with brown eyes, bad fashion sense, and nothing else going for her.
He still hadn’t moved.
“I’m going to go inside,” she said, pointing at her home. She stared at the ground before looking into his startling blue eyes. Licking her lips she did her best to smile, knowing in her heart she failed miserably. “Bye.”
“Have a nice day. If it’s okay with you, I’m going to mow the lawn today.”
“That’s fine. I’ll get you, erm, some iced tea or lemonade if you want?”
“Sounds good to me.”
She nodded, making her escape quickly into her home. Talking with Bryan was a lot harder than she imagined. They’d been neighbors now for over a year, and she still struggled to look him in the eye. His dominating presence always had her on edge, and mixed with the new lady friend every day, she felt out of place.
Glancing out the window she saw he was looking at her house with a frown. Charlotte quickly moved away from the window, not wanting to gain any attention herself. The neighborhood was a good one, which was why she liked living there. She worked online designing websites and book covers for several publishing houses. Her income was modest, but she paid for the house out of her inheritance from her grandparents. It was a street filled with older people or families with young children. She and Bryan were the odd ones out in the street. Charlotte really didn’t know why Bryan even lived in such a quiet part of the world. Nothing actually happened other than the occasional ball to the window, which parents always paid for. She’d never experienced anything bad during her time there.
Charlotte didn’t even know when she’d started paying attention to Bryan’s private life.
Maybe because you don’t have one.
She’d left college and a bad relationship behind. There was a time when she used to be outgoing, happy with life. Now, she was just happy to be at home with her computer and her own company. So much had been lost to her over the years. At twenty-five she shouldn’t be confined to her home. She doubted she’d ever grace Bryan’s doorstep and do the walk of shame, but she should at least be dating.
Okay, so she wasn’t alone. She did have friends. Her friends just happened to be her happily married neighbors. Susan and Michael Lewis, who lived to her right while Bryan lived on her left, were her friends. She had babysat for them several times, so their marriage remained strong and they got time to themselves.
Walking into her kitchen, she placed the mail onto the counter before filling up her kettle for some coffee. She had a long day ahead of her in her office, and she was already on edge from the brief encounter with her neighbor.
The sound of her backdoor opening had her jumping to see Susan herself coming in.
“I brought you some pumpkin rolls,” she said, looking happy with a spring in her step.
“Why have you brought me pumpkin rolls?”
Over the last two years she’d been the one to take baked goods next door, not the other way around.
“Well, I’ve got a favor to ask.”
“And here I was hoping that you were just happy to see me.” Charlotte took the wrapped package, inhaling the wonderful warm scent. “They’re freshly made as well. What do you want?”
“Well, Michael’s business partner is flying in from London on Friday, and we’re thinking of going out to drinks.”
“So?”
“You’re free and he’s free. You’re both single—”
“I’m not going on a double date.”
“Please, Charlotte. If you don’t go he’ll bring one of his plastic dolls, and all she does is laugh and comment on the latest diet she’s on.” Susan pouted. “Look at me—I can’t stick to a diet to save my life.”
“Michael loves you. You’re not using me because you’re worried he’s going to look elsewhere. I’ve seen the way he looks at you, Susan. He’s devoted and loves you so much.”
Susan rolled her eyes. “Okay, fine, please come because Daniel really wants you to be there.”
“Daniel?”
“Don’t you remember him? He was at that barbeque a couple of months back. You talked about heading up a new website for the company?”
Charlotte vaguely remembered him. Daniel was like Bryan, a total player and not someone she wanted to be dating.
“I don’t know, Susan. I’m really not the dating kind, and Daniel, he really is.” She hated double dating. Two people thrown together for their friends’ sakes didn’t make for the ideal date to her.
“Come on, Daniel is amazing. He likes you, and he asked if you were going to be there. Please, Charlotte. I’ll owe you.”
She frowned and hated turning her friends down. “Fine, I’ll go.”
“Excellent. This Friday, dress sexy.”
“I don’t own anything sexy.”
“You do. You just refuse to wear it. So, how’s the hot neighbor?” Susan asked, walking toward the window overlooking the front garden.
“He’s fine. I think.”
They both agreed he was hot, just not for either of them. Susan was happy with her man Michael while Charlotte was happy to be alone.
“You think?”
“He’s doing the lawn soon.”
“I saw you talking to him from my house.”
“That’s all he said, he was doing the lawn.”
“Really?”
“He was groping another blonde. There’s nothing else going on. Do you think we’re friends?”
“Well, you’re neighbors and you talk to him.”
“A casual greeting is not really tal
king to him. I talk to you and Michael more than I talk to Bryan.”
“Damn, you’re living next door to a fine piece of ass and I’m struggling to get you to go on a date. It’s pitiful.”
“I like working.”
“Honey, there’s more to life than working. I should know. I’m a married woman with kids.”
Charlotte laughed. “There’s nothing more important to you, but I’m happy with my life, really, I am.” She didn’t need men or anything else to have a complete life.
“You’re seriously in denial. How do you handle your needs?”
The sad truth was she didn’t have any needs. No, she didn’t touch or play with herself. She’d tried only to find herself embarrassed by her complete lack of enjoyment.
“I take care of them.” The lie fell easily from her lips. She didn’t need or want anyone in her life. At least, that’s what she told herself regularly.

“You can come if you’d like,” Michael said. “Bring a date.”
“Daniel’s bringing a date?” Bryan asked, uncapping his soda as he stared at the married man opposite. He liked Michael and Susan. They were a lovely couple, and they also provided him with information on the pesky brunette living between them. Charlotte was so quiet and withdrawn. He barely got a conversation out of her, and he’d tried, boy, had he tried.
“Susan’s setting him up with one. Well, not really setting him up. Dan’s asked for us to invite Charlotte along.”
Bryan swallowed down his mouthful of soda. “Dan wants Charlotte? Our mousy next door neighbor?”
“She’s not really mousy, Bryan. You don’t know her. The kids adore her, and Susan dotes on her as well.”
“I don’t know what you guys see.”
“Maybe we’re a comfort to her whereas you’re banging every woman you come into contact with.”
“I have a healthy sex life.” Bryan shrugged, thinking about Brandie. She’d given him one hell of a workout last night. The blonde was so incredibly bendy in all the right places. He’d fucked her mouth, pussy, and ass last night. Six condoms hadn’t been enough for what he’d wanted to do to her. She was a nice little submissive who loved the brand of dominance he liked to give. Bryan wasn’t into safe words, or even strict rules, but he did like to frequent BDSM clubs. He liked to be in charge without all the leather and labels people liked to put to it.
“That’s all you have.”
“If I bring a date, can I come?” Bryan asked, curious about Charlotte. There was something about her that intrigued him. Like this morning, she hadn’t looked at him with disgust when she watched him groping Brandie. She’d stared then looked down at her mail as if it was the most natural thing in the world to see.
Unlike a lot of women in the street she didn’t pester him for conversation or prolonged explanations about what he was doing. She simply treated him like a neighbor. Later today when he mowed the lawn, she’d present him with a drink before leaving him to it. He would leave his glass on the front step, and she’d collect it five minutes after he left. Bryan had watched her do it.
Now that he thought about it, he’d been spending too much time simply watching her. He didn’t do brunettes and preferred to stick to blondes with long legs and an appetite for sex.
“You want to come on a regular double date.”
“Triple date. I’ll bring a date.”
“I thought you said you didn’t date the people you fucked, which makes no sense.”
“I don’t. I can make an exception. I’ve got a friend who I trust, and she’ll be happy to go with me to dinner with you.”
“I shouldn’t accept this. Susan is going to kill me.”
“Why?” Bryan asked, sniggering.
“She really wants to get Daniel and Charlotte together. They really hit it off at the barbeque, and he keeps asking about her.” Michael lifted his hand in surrender. “Fine, you can come. We’re going to a little Italian place in town. It’s really nice.”
“I know the place.” Bryan didn’t like the anger that he experienced from knowing Susan was trying to set Charlotte up with another man. He knew Daniel. The bastard was a bigger player than he was, but he couldn’t get involved.
“My ass is going to be kicked over this.”
“I’m not going to cause a fuss. A bunch of friends having fun. Nothing is going to go wrong.”
“Please, everything has already gone wrong as far as my wife is going to be concerned.” Michael waved his hand at him. “Thanks for keeping out of my business.”
Bryan laughed as he saw Michael out of his door. “Don’t worry. I’ll keep everything locked up for you.”
Closing the door, he finished off his soda before making his way out of the back toward his shed. It was really hot outside, but the lawn needed to be mowed. He’d watched Charlotte mowing her lawn a couple of months back and started to take pity on her. She’d looked tired and completely out of her depth. After watching her struggle that one time, he’d taken over, and started to mow their lawns.
She needed a man in her life, whether she liked it or not. He’d watched her one too many times with the men who lived in the neighborhood. She was always friendly with the men but kept them at arm’s length. She didn’t even try to flirt with them. He saw the way some of the men looked at her. They were all curious about her, for a mousy little woman, and would probably do anything to have their dick fucking her tight pussy. Her pussy would be tight, too, very tight.
He grabbed the lawn mower from the shed, carrying it through his house, and set it up. Taking a long swallow of his cool soda, he got started on cutting the grass. He’d never been domesticated in his life. When he moved to this quiet neighborhood he had every intention of paying someone to come and do his garden. Now, just because he didn’t like to see his mousy neighbor struggling, he did it, regularly, without a shirt. It was pitiful of him to even think of getting involved with her.
Within the hour he finished his lawn before moving over to hers. He was about to fire up the lawnmower when her door opened.
“Hey,” she said. She held a frosted glass in her hand. “I just heard on the news that it’s particularly hot today.” He couldn’t keep his gaze off her. She’d changed out of her conservative clothes and was now wearing a thin camisole top, along with a pair of shorts that came to her knee.
The way she walked toward him, he saw the outline of her beautiful body perfectly.
“Here, I don’t want you to get dehydrated.”
He took the drink from her hands without breaking eye contact. “What is it?”
“Homemade lemonade. I hope that’s okay. I don’t like the shop bought stuff.”
Tipping the glass back, he took a long drink. It was sweet, refreshing, and a little tart at the same time.
“I like it.”
She smiled. “I’m glad.”
Her smile did something to him. His stomach knotted, and he found he couldn’t look away from her.
“Well, erm, I’m going to go back inside. Let me know if you want more to drink.” As quickly as that, she was gone. He didn’t like watching her leave, but the view of her ass was perfect.
What was it about Charlotte that he kept coming back for more? Was it the way she wouldn’t look him in the eye for any length of time? The softness of her body? The blonde he’d sent home that morning had large, plastic tits. He could play with them all day long with her moaning in the right places, but they were fake. From the look of Charlotte’s tits they were all natural. They jiggled with each step she took, and his cock had already started to swell at the sight of her.
She had large tits, submissive tendencies, and a sweetness about her all rolled into one package. Charlotte was like a little Dominant’s dream.
Not my dream.
She’s my mousy next door neighbor who barely speaks to me.
He finished off his drink, putting the glass off to one side. Bryan started mowing the lawn. He moved down one line, and on the way back he w
atched Charlotte move out of the house. She didn’t look his way as she carried a pitcher in her hand. Each of her movements was precise, bending down to pick the glass up. She inhaled one of the red blooms of her roses, smiling as she stood. There was a red tint to her cheeks but other than that, no clear sign of what she was thinking.
Her body really did look soft and inviting. He’d gladly love to explore every inch of her curves. She was bigger than any of the women he usually had. She was easily a size sixteen, maybe even bigger, not that he was an expert on women’s sizes.
What? What the fuck is going on in my head?
I love them slender, tight, and brainless.
Brandie hadn’t been brainless. He’d picked her up at the gym he liked to attend twice a week.
She didn’t have much to say other than agreeing with him. Ever since he joined the gym he’d noticed her eyes on him. He made her wait for his attention, earn it.
If he made every single woman earn his attention, why was he the one trying to get Charlotte’s attention?
She put the glass down on a pavement slab in the corner before heading back inside. Not once did she look his way. Clicking his tongue, he finished mowing up the lawn before taking a sip.
Watching her house, he wondered what she did for a living. She rarely left her home, and yet she didn’t seem to be struggling. He’d seen her go out for groceries, which stopped him thinking she was agoraphobic, suffering a fear of the outdoors.
Finishing off the drink, he did something different today. He knocked on her door, waiting for her to open it.
“Hello,” she said. She stared back at him. “Would you like another drink?”
“Actually, I was wondering if you’d like your back yard done. I’ve finished the front, and I’ll be doing my back in a moment.”
“Oh, would you do that? There’s not a lot around the back, but if you want to do it, I don’t mind.”
“Sure. I’ll be around in a moment. Is your gate unlocked?” he asked.
