  She smiled. “They were monsters. They’re gone, but if they hadn’t arrived, I’d have never met you. Without them, we wouldn’t be here right now. Maybe things happen for a reason, and for all of us to be together, we had to have them.”

  “She’s right,” Noah said, coming in close.

  Ryan, Luke, and Billy were now close behind them.

  They were his family.
