  “Your kind don’t deserve justice. I’m not in the wrong.”

  “What about Grass?”

  “Luther may be unconventional, but he’ll get things done. There will be a lot of good changes around here under his leadership.”

  She rolled her eyes. “Guns and drugs? Trafficking women? There’s nothing righteous about that.”

  “Why should the motorcycle clubs and local mafia control all the illegal trade? In our hands, we can make sure things are handled properly. Money will stay in the hands of good men, not criminals.”

  There was no point reasoning with him.

  Grass met with who she assumed was the pilot, then he waved Hank to come. Sable dug in her heels, but he shoved her forward. She didn’t want to be taken somewhere else. How would Dog find her? She hated being at the mercy of these two madmen.

  Once inside the helicopter, the static noise was so loud, no one could hear her complaints. She’d never been in a helicopter or airplane, and as it lifted high off the ground, she gripped the edges of her seat until her knuckles turned white.

  The ride wasn’t too long. And she was thankful when they landed on solid ground. The engine wound down until quiet returned. They all filed out of the helicopter, and she felt completely lost and alone.

  “Time to go,” said Luther. Hank handed her over to him. She looked at the cop, believing he was the lesser of two evils.

  “You played me, Sable. I won’t help you anymore. Club girls have no class. I should have known better.”

  Grass chuckled. “I’ll see you at the office, Hank. First, I need to add this one to the dollhouse.”

  She swallowed hard.

  Before she knew it, she was in the back of a black SUV, heading to someplace she knew would be a nightmare.

  Forge and Redneck were the first out of the gates. Old Dog found him out back scavenging some old parts and told him Sable had been taken. He’d never known real fear until that moment.

  He followed the Prez, his mind scattered in so many directions. How had this happened? Why hadn’t he kept her closer? The only thing working in their favor was the fact they’d taken her in broad daylight in front of half the club. The roar of the dozens of bikes sounded like an angry hive looking to devour something whole. They traveled at top speeds down the back roads after the white van. Even though they knew their target and were hot on the trail, it wouldn’t help if Sable was killed in that van.

  What if they stopped and he found Sable’s broken, bloody body inside?

  No life.

  No smile.

  He remembered the time Sable was shot by Hound. Her life had come so close to being snuffed out, and it was then he realized just how important she was to him.

  He couldn’t lose her now.

  Forge raised his hand in the air, making a quick circle. The bikes split up at the intersection ahead. Although no one had seen who’d grabbed Sable, Dog knew it was that fucking cop. They were going to bail from the van, so they needed all avenues covered. Forge wasn’t playing games anymore. Whether Sable was dead or alive, whoever was responsible was going to suffer.

  His group of Hell’s Slaves followed down the long side road, emerging on an industrial parking lot near the mail sorting plant. He slowed to a crawl, then set his booted foot down on the pavement.

  “What the fuck?” he muttered to himself.

  There was row after row of identical white vans. None of them were moving or out of place. A few minutes later, Forge and the rest of the boys joined them. His prez stopped right next to him.

  “Did anyone get a visual on our van?”

  Dog shook his head.

  “We’ll have to ride up and down the aisles. We’ll find her, Dog.”

  He pointed at the secured automated chain-link gates at the end of the roadway, complete with barbed wire. Even if they breached the gates, there were likely security cameras everywhere. They’d planned this right down to the last detail.

  Forge was on his cell phone, barking out orders, but Dog was a million miles away. Sable would be terrified. He’d fucking promised to keep her safe.

  “They’re not here,” Forge said, tucking his phone away.

  “What do you mean? We were just behind them. Sable’s in one of those vans.”

  Forge shook his head. “Sable managed to get a tracker on Hank’s phone. We know where they’ve taken her. Are you ready to go and get her?”

  He didn’t need to be asked twice. “Lead the way.”

  All the bikes turned around on the road, following Forge, the collective roar a familiar comfort. He had the tracking information and knew where to find Hank Little. They thought there were so smart, leading them to this parking lot. They likely assumed they had hours while the Hell’s Slaves searched every one of those vans and the building. Little and Grass were in for a surprise.

  About half an hour later, they parked on the side of the road.

  “It’s Grass’s government office.”

  Dog stared at the building. If Hank was in there, that meant Sable was there too.

  “How we handling this?” asked Dog.

  “With force.”

  Forge held up three fingers, and the next three brothers in the chain of command followed Forge and Dog into the building. They were all strapped, and they didn’t know how to play anything but dirty. Peterson had learned the hard way not to mess with the Hell’s Slaves, paying with this life. Now these two jokers would learn the same lesson.

  Dog kicked in the door to the office belonging to Luther Grass. The door slammed against the wall behind it with a powerful thud. Hank gasped and stumbled backward, using a hand on the desk to keep from falling.

  “Where is she?”

  “What are you talking about?”

  He wasn’t there to listen to bullshit. Dog stormed forward, grabbing Hank by the collar. Hank was tall and lanky, but not as tall as Dog. His muscles tightened as he held the cop in place. “Let’s try this again. Where the fuck is my old lady?”

  Hank narrowed his eyes. “You’re in a government building…”

  “And?”

  “The cops will be here within minutes.”

  He scoffed. “Good, then Sable can attest to you kidnapping her. Where is she?” When Hank didn’t answer, Dog grabbed and flattened his hand on the desk. He pulled out a butterfly knife, putting on a nice show for him. “Last chance to speak up.”

  No comment, so Dog slammed the tip of the blade into the back of Hank’s hand. The cop howled, dropping to his knees, staring at the blood oozing from the wound, the knife wedged firmly in place.

  “She’s with Luther. He’s taking her to his whore house.”

  He turned to look at Forge. The prez looked pissed off. “Use your good hand and write down the address. Now,” said Forge. “Don’t fuck with me either, as you’re coming along for the trip. You’ll ride like a bitch behind Old Dog.”

  Dog pulled his blade free, wiping the blood off on Hank’s pants. They all left the building, heading to their bikes. He hadn’t counted on not finding Sable. The tracker was on Hank, not her, but at least they had the information they needed now.

  The so-called whore house was just on the outskirts of town near the country club. On the outside, it appeared to be a modest country estate, nothing to look twice at. To the trained eye, Dog noted the security, locking gate, and bars on the windows.

  “Tell them to open the gates,” said Dog.

  When the intercom sounded, Hank did as asked, and the gates began to open automatically. The bikes rolled in, taking over the place. This was going to get ugly.

  “What is this place?” asked Forge. They usually knew about everything in their territory. Something of this nature should have been on their radar.

  “Luther calls it his dollhouse. He keeps the women here.”

  “You two are double-dipping. Didn’t you learn anything from your predecessor? You have to pick one side of the law,” said Dog.

  He shrugged
. “These girls are nothing. Illegals, orphans, homeless. We’re doing them a favor,” said Hank. “They’re living the American dream now.”

  “You sure they’ll agree with that?” asked Dog. He shoved Hank. “You shouldn’t have taken my woman. Now I won’t settle for anything less than tearing down your entire fucked-up empire.”

  Once inside the building, the brothers spread out, rifles and handguns at the ready. The security was a joke, and they had them pistol whipped and tied together within minutes of entering.

  “Where’s Sable?” asked Dog.

  “I don’t know. We were supposed to meet at his office after he dropped her off here. He wanted her broken and trained. He’s probably already gone.”

  “Well, you better fucking pray no one’s laid one finger on her,” said Dog, running up the staircase in search of her. Room after room, he opened the doors to find scantily clad young women, and none of them appeared willing to be there. At least the club pussy loved their place in life. Nothing was ever forced on them. MC life was different from anything out in the free world. Outsiders couldn’t understand their way of life.

  This shit was a whole different beast. Grass was another level of evil.

  “Down here,” Shadow called out. “I found her.”

  Dog raced down the staircase, following the voice to the basement of the building. It was gloomy as fuck, no natural light. Naked girls were chained to the walls. He scanned the room for Sable.

  “Dog!”

  He turned to the voice. Sable was tied to a wooden chair, all her clothes on. She was alive and didn’t appear to have been tortured—yet. He rushed toward her, skidding on his knees as he neared, wrapping his arms around her waist. With his head on her lap, another brother cut the ropes around her wrists, and then she ran her fingers into her hair.

  “I’m so sorry, baby.”

  “It’s not your fault, Dog. I was stupid. I should have known better.”

  He shook his head. “No, you’re my responsibility.”

  She could be carrying his child right now. They both could have been lost. He tried to force back all the sick and crazy thoughts playing in his head. He had her back. And he’d never allow her to be taken from him again.

  “Who did this, Sable?” asked Forge, all business.

  “Hank and Luther. They wanted revenge on me and the club.”

  He already knew, but to hear it from her mouth, he wanted to kill them both slowly. He’d need the prez’s permission for that, and with all the political drama, he doubted his boss would allow it just yet.

  “Did they hurt you?”

  “I’m okay. They were planning a lot of things for tonight though. I’m so glad you found me.”

  He stood and scooped her up into his arms, holding her close.

  “Cut them all loose. We’ll have to clean this shit up. It’ll be big news if it hits the media, so keep it on the down-low,” said Forge. The brothers began releasing the bound women.

  “What about Hank and Luther? They’re going to walk? What about my revenge?”

  “I don’t want our stamp on any of this, Dog. You know what it could mean for the club. Be patient. When the time is right, they’ll get their dues.”

  “But she’s my old lady.”

  Forge scrubbed a hand down his face. “Five minutes. Make sure you don’t kill him.”

  Luther was off-site, but Hank was the one who had really gotten under his skin. Dog still remembered him breathing all over his woman, touching her, getting way too close for comfort. He’d use his five minutes well.

  “Don’t leave me.” Sable wrapped her arms tight around his neck as he carried her up the stairs. He was torn—comfort his old lady or knock the snot out of that asshole. The fury within him settled as he looked into her dark eyes.

  He had her back. That was what really mattered. She was his future. Together, they’d make a family, and they’d both love their kids how parents should.

  When they got back to the foyer, many brothers still on guard, he made eye contact with Hank. “Baby, it’s just five minutes, then I’m all yours.”

  “He’s not worth it, Dog.”

  He brought her to the front doors where there was a large bench seat. He set her down and knelt on one knee in front of her, gathering her hands in his. “I’ve never been more scared, baby. I hated you doing that recon. It tore me apart every day. But this, knowing you’d been taken, it tore me apart on the inside. I never felt such desperation.”

  “He told me you’d never come for me. I know he wanted me to believe it—I never did.”

  “I’ll always come for you, baby.”

  They kissed and it felt like heaven. She completed him, the light to his darkness. They kissed harder, deeper, and he didn’t give a fuck who was watching. As soon as he got her home, he was going to claim her again and again. He wanted to give her pleasure, to hear her cries echoing in this room.

  “That’s perfect. You can head back to the club and suck cock for the rest of your life,” said Hank.

  The jealous little shit. Dog turned his head and glared at the fucker. His body wanted to act, every muscle tensed and ready, but he needed to put Sable first. She wanted him to be the better man and walk away.

  He turned back to her.

  “Okay, big boy, five minutes.”

  Chapter Twelve

  Arriving back at the clubhouse, Sable was surrounded by the club brothers, and her sister came running toward her.

  At first, Dog grabbed her sister’s arm and tried to hold her back, but Sable stopped him. She wrapped her arms around her sister, holding her close. If there was a chance to mend their relationship, she was willing to forgive and forget.

  “I was so scared. I didn’t know what to do,” Honey said.

  “It’s fine.”

  “No, it’s not. I said all of those horrible mean things to you, and it wasn’t fair of me. I’m so sorry.” Honey cried as she spoke.

  Sable didn’t feel like crying. Other than being taken and the overall fear of what might be, she would survive. She believed right from the start Dog would rescue her and she’d been right.

  He’d come right on time.

  Sure, fear had taken her for a short time, but it didn’t mean she was going to allow it to completely control her.

  Being back within the clubhouse made her feel safe, joyous, and happy.

  She moved away from her sister and Dog immediately pulled her up. His knuckles were bloody from the five minutes he’d spent alone with Hank. She didn’t mind. There had been a lot of wounds she’d cleaned up for him over the years. The club whistled and clapped their hands.

  “Fuck off, guys,” he said.

  “Well, excuse me for wanting to see my friend,” Beth said.

  Dog groaned, resting his head against Sable’s “It would seem a lot of people were afraid you were dead,” he said.

  “I like it. It means I’ve got a place here.”

  It was funny how things had a way of working themselves out. After she came home from being sent away from the club, things didn’t feel the same, but now she realized everything could go back to normal.

  “You’ve always got a place. Don’t ever forget it. You’re here to stay, always.” He sank his fingers into her hair, pulling her close and smashing his lips against hers. She melted against him, loving the feel of him and not wanting him to stop. “I won’t ever let anything happen to you. Not again.”

  She giggled against his mouth but was pulled away into Beth’s open arms. Her friend hugged her until she couldn’t really breathe.

  Forge intervened. “She’s alive. No need to behave like that.”

  “Yes, but he was a cop. Do we all need to worry? Do we need to like leave the country?” asked Beth. She was still not fully accustomed to club life, and it was endearing.

  Sable stepped back to press against Dog. They wouldn’t be leaving the country. There was no need to as Hank wasn’t going to be a problem, nor was Grass. They were both embarrassm
ents to the police department. Their replacements easy to find. She had no doubt someone would be guarding the streets, threatening them. Or if they knew what was good for them, they’d learn to look the other way for a price.

  She wasn’t stupid. She knew how this worked.

  Hank wanted to be the one in charge and not take orders from them. His delusional sense that he was better than everyone else was just shocking, Grass’s too. Only Grass knew just how far his disturbed mind went. He was a true criminal and wanted the power to move freely without anyone interfering with his work.

  “Right, you’ve all had your fun, and now, I’ve got a job to do,” Dog said. He picked her up in his arms and she had no choice but to wrap her legs around his waist. The club VP didn’t care about the audience. He was proud to be her man, and it was the greatest feeling in the world.

  “What are you doing?” she asked. He had a nice firm grip on her ass, and she liked it just like that.

  “Simple, they can enjoy you tomorrow … or in a couple of days. I want to enjoy you now.”

  She giggled. “You’re acting like a crazy person.”

  “No, I’m acting like a man who wants his woman and doesn’t want to share.”

  They made it to his bedroom and she laughed as he kicked the door closed. Rather than drop her to the bed, he lowered her down to her feet and slowly started to remove her clothes.

  He took his time, taking her shirt, followed by her jeans, then down to her panties and bra. When she stood before him naked, he sat on the edge of the bed, taking her hand within his.

  He groaned. “I can’t believe you’re mine. This body is mine. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, Sable, but I’m never letting you go.”

  “You didn’t do anything other than be you.” She cupped his face as he took hold of her hips and drew her closer. His big rough hands against her soft skin felt perfect.

  She moaned as he pulled her against him. He still had on clothes, but that didn’t stop her from feeling the hardness of his dick as it pressed against her. She wiggled for good measure.
