  She’d never hurt anyone during her life, never taken the time to say a mean word, or hit someone, and as she reached back, grabbed the gun, she took aim, and fired.

  Blood spilled, and there was nothing left of the man’s head. She’d done what she needed to do. He wasn’t hurting her, and she held the gun, rushing back toward Noah.

  She gave him the gun. They didn’t have time to hesitate. These men were going to kill them both. The other guy gripped her around the neck, cutting off her air supply.

  “You don’t have to be breathing to enjoy pussy.”

  He was intent on killing her. Her eyes closed as air became a necessity. Only, she wasn’t able to breathe.

  He held her immobile, unable to fight, and it was only when she was close to passing out that the pressure eased from her throat, and she was able to take that first deep breath. It was a welcome to her. Noah had fired the gun twice more. She rolled the man off her, and she went to her knees, coughing.

  She panted as someone touched her back.

  Looking up, she saw Noah there.

  They were covered in blood, but they had won. They had been victorious.

  Claps echoed around the room, and she looked up to see that it had been watched from a vantage point above them.

  “Very impressive. I have to say, I didn’t think you had it in you to actually kill them. Well done you, Skye.”

  Noah still held the gun in his hand, but there were no more bullets.

  The doors opened. She swallowed past the lump as the other men came in, carrying bats.

  “Put the gun down. There are no more bullets,” she said. “We can’t win this. Not here. Not like this.”

  “Skye?”

  “There’s four of them, Noah, and only two of us. We’re not going to win this.”

  She took hold of his hand, the one that hadn’t been holding the gun. Seconds passed. The threat was there.

  She knew how Noah felt as she felt the same. Killing them wouldn’t help their situation. It would only make it worse, and right now, they were outnumbered.

  Finally, he dropped the cuff, and the bats were lowered.

  “Until next time.” Accent guy spoke up, and she glanced back.

  He wasn’t happy. Whatever was next, it wouldn’t be good. They were both grabbed and shoved into a tiled room. Holding onto Noah, she let out a scream as they were suddenly powered by water jets, freezing cold water covering them from head to toe. Noah held her close, and she stared at the tiled floor, seeing the dirt and filth wash away. They were being washed. The icy cold blast felt like it was burning her skin. She couldn’t enjoy it.

  Just as quickly as it started, the water turned off, and they were marched back to their cell without another word.

  Skye was just happy to have been allowed back with Noah.

  If he hadn’t won, she’d have stuck the cuff into her own neck and bled out. It was the only way she’d have ever been able to deal with that ending.

  The moment their cell door closed, Noah grabbed her face, pressing her back against the door, and taking possession of her lips.

  “There’s no way I’d want another to touch you. You’re mine, Skye. All mine.”

  Later that day or night, they had no way of knowing what time of the day it was, Noah watched as Skye used the toilet. She held onto her back, and she was in pain.

  “Are you okay?”

  “I’ll be fine.”

  He got up from the bed and moved closer to her. There were bruises all along her back and chest. The beatings they were constantly getting were starting to take their toll. They had bruises on top of bruises.

  “Don’t. Please, let me have this.”

  He took a step back, giving her the privacy she needed to take a pee. After everything they’d been through, he figured she’d be over this, but alas, not.

  Once she finished, he turned and went to her.

  “I need to see.”

  “No. It’s fine.”

  “Skye, we’re in this together. I can’t have you dying on me.”

  “It’s nothing, really.”

  He turned her toward the light. “One of the guys hit you today?”

  “I don’t know. Everything just went crazy. I’m not making excuses, I just don’t know, okay.” She rubbed at her temple. “I’m so tired.”

  “It has been a long day.”

  He took her hand, leading her back to the bed.

  “I feel like I spend all day on this thing.”

  “We really kind of do.”

  He moved her over, keeping his back to the door. His focus was on Skye. Wrapping his arms around her, he held her close. This was what they did. They were each other’s comfort.

  “What are you thinking about?” she asked.

  “Not a lot. About heading home when all of this is over.”

  “I can’t think about the future right now.”

  “Why not?”

  “I’m not exactly optimistic that we’re going to, you know, actually get out of this.” She shrugged, and he saw the glisten of tears in her eyes. “I don’t want to cry.”

  “It’s fine.”

  “It’s not. I can feel it, Noah. We’re trapped. There’s no way out, and each day, I feel the fight burning out of me. We’re fighting a losing battle here.”

  He took hold of her hand. “We’re not losing. We won’t ever lose. I’ve got you, and you’ve got me. We’re in this together.”

  “What do you think other people would say in our positions?”

  “I’d like to think they’d be doing the same as us. Talking to each other, helping them through it.”

  He stopped talking as soon as they heard screaming, crying out, and moaning. It was so close to their door. He held Skye a little tighter, praying they’d be left alone.

  She shook against him, and he’d have done anything for them to be far away right now.

  The commotion seemed to go on forever. They’d already been used today, and he hoped they’d pass his room.

  He shouldn’t have hoped.

  They were monsters, and he, Skye, and the other men and women, were all just pawns in their game. The doors opened, and in moved five men. Within seconds he was pulled from the bed.

  “Noah?”

  Skye got off the bed, and before he could do anything, she was hit in the mouth. He watched as she collapsed to the floor with a groan but wasn’t out cold yet.

  In the next second, one of the guards hit her stomach, and then another blow to the head.

  “Leave her alone.”

  He couldn’t allow them to hurt her like this. Filled with a blistering rage, he tried to fight back. Ever since his body had been taken, everything had become useless to him.

  “Time to go and play, big boy.”

  Before he could stop them, they were already dragging him out of the room. He looked back over his shoulder, but he didn’t have time to see what was going on before it was shut behind him.

  Accent guy was still very much in the room with Skye.

  “Let me go. Come on, guys, you don’t want to do this.”

  They moved toward an elevator, and he gritted his teeth as he tried to fight but his body was so fucking useless. He wasn’t used to being this helpless. He was normally so strong.

  Sure, the food they fed them was once a day, but even still, he should have been able to fight them back. Even today with those men. None of them were trained, and he still couldn’t do a thing about the hits Skye had gotten.

  He was so fucking useless. How was he going to get them out of here alive when he couldn’t even defend her right now? Staring at his reflection in the mirror, he felt a deep wave of shame.

  Naked.

  Bruised.

  Weak.

  He wasn’t himself, and yet, there was nothing he could do but wait as the elevators pinged open, and they were on another floor. Only this floor didn’t have any rooms. He saw at least another ten men, chained up.

  “That’s Scar,” the guy beside him said.

  Noah turned to look at the guy on his left. “Scar?”

  “That’s what we all call him. You’re new though. It has been a long time since there had been any new blood here.”

  “Long time?”

  “Are you just repeating my words?”

  “I’m sorry.”

  “How old are you, son?” the guy asked.

  “Eighteen.”

  “Damn, I knew there was a lot of demands for kids, but I didn’t realize they were going so young for games like this. Are you alone?”

  “No.”

  “You’ve got a girl?”

  “Who are you?” Noah asked, a little confused.

  “Sorry, the name’s Dave. I’d shake your hand, but I can’t do that right now.”

  “Where are we? What the hell is going on?”

  “I can’t answer where we are, but I do know that what they have going on is a sick selection of sex games for rather wealthy clients.”

  Noah frowned. “What?”

  “They get paid to trap people and then force them to carry out sick and twisted games. Most are done on camera and are broadcast all over the world. On rare occasions we have something a little interactive like this. None of this would ever be legal. It all has to be done in top secret, and no one gets their hands dirty.”

  “They made me rape my friend,” Noah said, blurting the words out.

  “Damn, I’m so sorry. It’s what some sick pervs want to see,” Dave said.

  “Was? Have they made you kill her yet?”

  “So there are cameras in the room.”

  Dave nodded. “Yep. My girl, she got killed a few days ago, I think. Days tend to blend in together here. You don’t really know how long you’ve been taken.”

  “I’m so sorry.”

  “She fought back. Was so fearless no matter what they threw at her. She told me to get out. To find freedom and to make the bastards pay. Only I can’t get out, so I guess I’ll be disobeying her instruction.”

  “Has anyone gotten out?”

  “Scar did for about ten minutes. He was injured so he didn’t get very far. The dogs caught him, and they threw his ass back in the cells.”

  “How do you know so much about Scar?” Noah asked.

  “Sometime ago, they used to allow us all to mingle together. Only, we all tried to escape. It got six of us killed, and since then, we’ve been confined to our rooms. Think of it as a prison and they’re designed to keep us in forever.”

  “What will they do about a girl not on the pill? If she gets pregnant?” Noah had to get as much information as possible. This could help them both. Him and Skye.

  “Your girl’s not on the pill?”

  “No.”

  “Damn, they cut it out.”

  “What?”

  “Abortion, son. Only it’s not always guaranteed for her to survive. You’d best keep coming inside her to a minimum. It’s not the best idea of protection, but it may help her chance of survival here. Is she your girlfriend or something? It’s rare for them to capture two together. It’s too risky.”

  “No. She’d been my tutor.”

  “Damn, I’m sorry. Don’t let them win. You work together as a team, and you’ll get through this thing.”

  “How can you be so sure?”

  “I know a lot of bad shit is going down. Just be ready for it to get worse. It’s always the same for everyone. The pain, the beatings, that’s nothing compared to what is coming.”

  There was no time for talking as the lights went down and the center of the room lit right up. Noah watched as another man, smaller than he was, was dragged into the center of the stage.

  Accent guy was nowhere to be seen.

  No one spoke as the man was chained up across a bench. His arms were spread out, and his legs spread. There was no give in the restraints, and the guy couldn’t move.

  Noah winced as the man’s back was whipped. Three men were in the room, none of whom Noah recognized.

  One by one, the men beat the man, and he didn’t have a clue for what reason they were doing that. Over and over, they lashed at his skin. Welts began to appear, and a few of the harsher cuts went so much deeper. Noah could no longer see the men around him, just the ones in front, putting on the sick, twisted show.

  He watched as the men removed their clothes, completely naked, and their cocks stood out.

  Noah didn’t like this.

  The restrained man moaned. “Let me go. Please. I don’t belong here.”

  “This is what you get when you try to escape, or just for some kind of fun.”

  Noah felt sick to his stomach as one man stepped up behind him. In the minutes that passed, Noah had never felt so … disgusted.

  “Now that the punishment is over with. It’s time for a special … initiation.” The man chuckled. “I have to say, I was so surprised by how much they were willing to pay.” The man turned slowly in a circle, watching all of them.

  Noah didn’t like this. Clenching his hands into fists, he waited, hoped, and of course, it didn’t help him.

  The man stepped up to him.

  “But it seems one of our clients likes pretty boys. You’re a pretty boy, Noah, and someone was willing to pay a couple of grand for the use of your body.”

  Before he could stop them, they had him moved toward the bench that had quickly been hosed down with hot water and cleaned of all blood, semen, and something else on the floor that he didn’t even want to think about. It was now all clean, ready for what was about to be done to him.

  “Let me go.”

  He yelled, cursed, and begged to be let go.

  Of course, that didn’t happen. Whoever had paid for him, they wanted a piece of flesh, and now there was no chance of him escaping until they got what they wanted.

  Chapter Six

  “Noah’s going to be gone for some time, but that’s okay, I’ll keep you company.”

  Skye tried to cover herself as best she could.

  Accent guy, it’s what she and Noah called him, scared her. He’d been the one in charge, or at least, they assumed he was the one in charge.

  “Where’s Noah?”

  “He’s paying for his keep. I was shocked, actually. I never expected to get
such a large sum for what they want to do to him.” His smile was wicked as he stared at her.

  To do? What were they going to do to Noah?

  “What you’re doing is wrong.”

  “I know, but you see, I’ve not been caught. Besides, when things get a little suspicious, we tend to pack up our operation and head somewhere else. The money’s good, and it’s fun. There’s a lot of sick fucks in the world who want to see all kinds of things, horrible things. I’m willing to give them what they want, but they all have to pay.”

  “You think it’s fun watching men rape women.”
